Youth Of Today Motive

DON'T START IF YOU DON'T LIKE THE FINISH

Hope For The Future

As part of the Rise Up program we have attended a number of workshops ran by Surviving our streets (SOS). These works shops highlighted the rise of crime on our streets but also gave us workable tips on how to remain safe. Surviving Our Streets is a violence prevention that aims to engage those most likely to shoot/stab or be a victim of a shooting/stabbing. SOS takes a unique stance regarding the issue of serious youth/gang related violence and maintains the problem is one of public health and not criminality. The organisation employs an evidenced based intervention that utilises disease control methodology to reduce shootings, stabbings and killings. I believe the way forward for this country is to address its knife/gang crime issues and find real and workable solutions. (Please refer to Surviving our streets.co.uk). And this is I believe the responsibility of those in government with support from those from organisations like SOS.
